I was brought in to The Mill New York to do some R&D work to figure out how to transition the necklace from solid to liquid and then back to a solid in an elegant manor. I ended up doing the first two liquid shots from start to finish. The project went through a lot of trial and error and consisted of many changes but was overall a very challenging and fun project. The look was achieved with a combination of Houdini and Naiad. A rig was made along side of another FX TD which allowed me to quickly change the look of the helix. The helix was used to make velocity channels and was brought into Naiad and simulated in a complex rig to allow the shape to form.
